SEES Finnair soap in Business Class
Press release 12 September 2023

Finnish natural cosmetics company SEES has created a scent concept for Finnair, built around scent memories and the wellbeing effects of fragrance. SEES products now contribute to the scent experience in Finnair’s long-haul Business Class cabins and in Finnair lounges at Helsinki Airport.
Since June, the carefully considered scent world created by SEES has been available in Finnair lounges at Helsinki Airport. In the washrooms, the scent path begins with hand soap and moisturiser. In the shower and sauna areas, the experience continues with hygiene and hair care products. The same carefully considered atmosphere is carried into the washrooms of Finnair’s long-haul aircraft through selected hygiene products.

“Our goal was to create a cohesive scent world that moves subtly and seamlessly from the lounges to the aircraft, creating a unified sensory experience,” says Elisa Koivumaa, founder and CEO of SEES Company.
SEES products are based on combining essential oils with clean and fully biodegradable ingredients. In addition to natural cosmetics, the product range includes low-chemical home cleaning products, pure essential oils and home fragrances.
“SEES products are modern and carefully considered. Collaborating with a Finnish company specialising in natural cosmetics was a natural choice for us,” says Kristos Mavrostomos from Finnair’s customer experience team.

A shared goal: creating scent memories with a high degree of Finnish origin
People react to scents subconsciously. The sense of smell sends signals to the part of the brain where memories and emotions are formed. This is why scents are so strongly connected to memories.
“Few Finnish companies make use of authentic scents to deepen their brand experience. It is excellent that Finnair has taken a step towards building a carefully considered scent path. Scents should always remain in the background, but in this collaborationtheir purpose is to relax and calm the mind. Genuine essential oils make even moments such as washing your hands feel a little more elevated, and natural ingredients are also better for the environment,” Koivumaa summarises.

SEES products are made in Finland. Their ingredients come from renewable natural resources, the products are vegan, and the bottles are made from recycled plastic. The visual identity of the packaging is simple and Scandinavian.
